Dynawinch will merge its operations into National Oilwell Varco’s ASEP Elmar division.

National Oilwell Varco (NYSE: NOV) plans to buy Calgary’s Dynawinch Industries Ltd. for an undisclosed sum.

Dynawinch will merge its operations into National Oilwell Varco’s ASEP Elmar division.

David Brebner, vice president of NOV ASEP Elmar, said, “Dynawinch’s custom truck designs fit well within our portfolio of well intervention equipment and join our existing range of pressure control equipment, masts, winches, slickline tools, and tubular products. We offer the complete wireline solution whether it is certified 30,000 psi pressure control equipment, a pulling tool or a fit for purpose slickline truck.”

The Dynawinch Calgary plant will continue to operate under the same management of Albert Roy and Paul Trudel. The plant will continue to manufacture Dynawinch design trucks and will act as a sales and service facility for the ASEP Elmar pressure control product line for Canadian clients.
