Production has averaged approximately 16,000 net barrels of oil equivalent per day.

An affiliate of Dana Petroleum Plc, Aberdeen, U.K., (London: DNX) plans to acquire a number of offshore U.K. assets from Suncor Energy Inc., Calgary, (Toronto, NYSE: SU) for C$390 million (£240 million).

The assets include Petro-Canada UK Ltd.'s interests in 12 offshore production and exploration licenses in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. Production has averaged approximately 16,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day net to Suncor.

The interests also include its share of the ownership of the Triton floating production, storage and offloading vessel related to the Guillemot West/North West and Bittern fields.

Suncor is continuing with plans to divest of a number of non-core assets, which so far include all oil and gas producing assets in the U.S. Rockies, non-core natural gas properties in Western Canada, all Trinidad and Tobago assets and all shares in Petro-Canada Netherlands BV. Remaining proposed divestments include certain gas assets in Western Canada.

Suncor has to date, including the offshore U.K. assets, disposed of properties for aggregate consideration of approximately US$3.3 billion.

The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
