HOUSTON -- Weatherford International Ltd. today announced that Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has awarded Weatherford Oil Tools Middle East Ltd. a performance-based evergreen contract for the provision of integrated services for the Amal and other fields in the south of Oman.

The contract scope covers integrated solutions for products and services including drilling, completion, well intervention and artificial lift technologies. The Amal field in Southern Oman will be developed on the basis of advanced steam-based enhanced oil recovery techniques.

“PDO was looking for a long-term partnership with a solutions provider who could offer a strong, commercial technology portfolio, backed by equally strong R&D capabilities, to forge this performance based evergreen contract, which PDO has never awarded before,” said Moutaz Al-Riyami, Project Manager for PDO.
