Baker Hughes gets contract extension with Russian operator

July 1, 2009

The Novosibirsk affiliate of a Russian operator has awarded Baker Hughes another one-year contract extension. Since August 2006, Baker Hughes Integrated Operations has provided directional drilling and MWD, coring, drilling fluids and drill bits on four drilling rigs. The extension is based on Baker Hughes' outstanding performance, HS&E successes, and operational cooperation. Over the contract period, Baker Hughes has drilled 96 wells while continually improving well construction efficiency. Wells are now drilled in an average 26.8 days compared to 36 days in 2006, a 25% efficiency improvement.
