Oil has been discovered in the Knockandoo-Talisker exploration well offshore Norway, said partner Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco). The find was made in the well near the producing Brage field off Norway and will be produced through Brage.

Noreco has a 13% share in the field and expects to start production in just three to four weeks.

The well was drilled to a depth of 8,245ft (2,513m) and was concluded in the Statfjord group in the Lower Jurassic.

Knockandoo-Talisker will produce up to 10,000 boe/d gross from mid November.
