Norwegian Petroleum Directorate confirmed that the Artemis Atlantic has resumed acquisition of 2D seismic data as planned in the northeastern part of the Barents Sea.

A total of approximately 14,300 km of seismic will be acquired in this area, and according to the plan, the work will continue until mid-October.

The area to be surveyed is in the previously contested area along the border with Russia. The acquisition is taking place on assignment from the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. This is the first time Norwegian authorities have acquired seismic data in this part of the Barents Sea.

Over the course of the summer and autumn, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate plans to acquire a total of 30,000 km of seismic in the Barents Sea, around Jan Mayen and in the Nordland IV and V areas.
