The minister of Indian affairs and northern development has announced the results of the sale of six parcels in northwestern Canada, located in the Beaufort Sea and Mackenzie Delta area.
The sale offered approximately 2,239,000 acres (9,060.91 sq km) with all six parcels being located offshore.
Franklin Petroleum Ltd. bid and won all six parcels offered in the sale, which included Parcels BSMD2012-01 to BSMD2012-06. The company submitted just over $7.5 million in work proposal bids.
