Total has signed a farm-in agreement for two exploration blocks in Kurdistan region of Iraq.
The company completed an acquisition of 35% interest in two blocks, Harir and Safen, held by Marathon Oil KDV B.V., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corp. Total will be the operator for the Safen block development.
The blocks cover areas of 705 sq km(272 sq miles) and 424 sq km (164 sq miles), respectively.
