Valeura Energy Inc. has been awarded two new exploration licenses on a 100% working interest basis in southeast Turkey by the General Directorate of Petroleum Affairs of the Republic of Turkey (GDPA).

These awards include the Bostanci license 4985 at the juncture of the Syria and northern Iraq borders and the Karakilise license 5052 near the city of Diyarbakir.

Jim McFarland, president and chief executive officer of Valeura, said, "The Bostanci license was the most prospective of the Rubai licenses, which expired under a previous farmin arrangement, and offsets a number of world-class oil discoveries in northern Iraq and Syria. Under a new license term, we have the time to fully evaluate the prospectivity of Bostanci.”
