The Sasanof-1 unconventional gas exploration well in Australia has produced at a peak gas flow rate of 178,000 cubic feet per day (cf/d) during post-stimulation cleanup activities and production testing, Senex announced
Sasanof-1 was the first well in Senex’s three-well unconventional gas exploration program in the liquids rich southern Cooper basin permit PEL 516(Senex 100%).
The hydraulic fracture stimulation of Sasanof-1 was successfully completed in late May, with post-stimulation cleanup activities and production testing continuing.
Senex Managing Director Ian Davies said that achieving a peak gas flow rate of 178,000 cf/d during well cleanup activities is a pleasing milestone. “The progress to date from Sasanof-1 is very encouraging, and continues to underpin our confidence in proving up a material and world class unconventional gas resource in the South Australian Cooper basin,” he said.
