Petronas and Lundin Oil have reportedly made an oil discovery at the Bertam oil field at Block PM 307 offshore Pahang, Malaysia, according to the New Straits Times.
Citing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak as its source, the news outlet reported oil production could be reached by 3Q 2014 with an expected production of between 17,500 b/d and 20,000 b/d. The oil field is 160 km (99 miles) offshore Peninsular Malaysia in the Penyu basin.
The find could mark the first oil discovery in Pahang, according to the article.
