RWE Dea to expand exploration and appraisal wells offshore Norway

RWE Dea plans to participate in eight exploration and appraisal wells offshore Norway over the next 18 months.

The busy drilling schedule follows on from a successful 2008 drilling campaign so far, which has seen RWE involved in discoveries at the Jordbaer, Uer and Blomster prospects.

The largest, the Jordbaer discovery, was made in Block 34/3, 45km northeast of the Snorre field in the northern part of the North Sea.

RWE said there is further untested potential on the licence, which the partnership will be working to explore.
