Roxi Petroleum’s NK8 well in the Galaz field, Kazakhstan, reached a total depth of 1,378 m (4,520 ft) and has been tested at an interval between 1,291 m (4,235 ft) to 1,296 m (4,251 ft) using choke sizes ranging between 5 mm to 7 mm.

Using a 5-mm choke, oil flowed at a rate of 161 b/d; through a 6-mm choke, oil flowed at a rate of 197 b/d; and using a 7-mm choke, oil flowed at a rate of 251 b/d.

Roxi currently has a 34.22% interest in the Galaz field.

Clive Carver, Roxi’s chairman, said, "The results from NK8, when taken together with test production from NK6 and NK7, will mean oil production from Galaz at around the 500 b/d.
