The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Wintershall Norway AS a drilling permit for well 16/1-16 offshore drilling.

Well 16/1-16 will be drilled from the drilling facility Bredford Dolphin at position 58°54'47.767'' north 02°15'54.649'' east for Wintershall Norge AS in Production License 457.

The drilling program for well 16/1-16 relates to drilling of a wildcat well in Production License 457.

Wintershall is the operator with a 40% ownership interest. The other licensees are E.ON E&P Norway AS, 20%; Bridge Energy Norway AS, 20%; and VNG Norge AS, 20%.

The area in this license includes parts of Block 16/1. The well will be drilled approximately three km north of the Edvard Grieg field and approximately three km east of the oil discovery 16/1-9 Ivar Aasen in the central part of the North Sea.
