Advantec Aberdeen Ltd., a privately owned technology and service company in the subsea sector, has opened a new office and workshop facility at Kirkwood Commercial Park in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Advantec Aberdeen, which is dedicated to the supply, service and maintenance of subsea control systems and wellhead solutions, has agreed to lease a 13,000 sq ft warehouse and yard, and a 7,000 sq ft office within the main office block for an initial period of five years with the option to extend to 10 years.
Managing director of Advantec Aberdeen, Steve King, said, “We looked at many options when identifying a site but none had the size, range of buildings and location to meet our present and future growth plans. Advantec Aberdeen is a well-funded model with immediate plans to develop and run a fleet of up to 10 state-of-the-art intervention and workover umbilicals (IWOC) with our technology partners Advantec, Stord.
“We also plan to create a test and assembly hub for original equipment manufacturers and operators alike. We required premises and a landlord who shared our vision of growth and a site large enough to house IWOCs, test and assembly and site integration testing divisions,” King concluded.
