Pertamina Hulu Energi WMO, a subsidiary of Pertamina, completed the installation of its latest drilling and production platform in the West Madura Offshore (WMO) Block off East Java on Oct. 21, according to the Jakarta Globe.
The PHE-38B platform has the capacity for a maximum of eight wells. Total production capacity would be about 7,000 b/d of oil and 35 MMcf/d of natural gas, noted Pertamina Hulu. The field is about 113 km (68 miles) offshore.
This is the first of three platforms being built by Bakrie Construction. The remaining two platforms are scheduled for completion by the end of 2012.
The field is presently producting about 12,000 b/d and 160 MMcf/d of natural gas, the newspaper reported. The company expects to reach 30,000 b/d in 2013 by drilling 25 exploration wells and 75 development wells, and adding 10 new platforms.
