GE Oil & Gas has won a US $600 million service agreement spanning 22 years to maintain the compressor trains and associated equipment at Chevron’s Gorgon liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Western Australia.
The contractor’s global services division will provide the operator with scheduled maintenance, monitoring and diagnostics of the installed equipment, plus an inbuilt guarantee relating to continuity of production. As part of the collaboration, it will also manage inventory and supply initial spare parts.
Chevron operates the Gorgon project with a 47.3% stake, with its partners being ExxonMobil (25%), Shell (25%), Osaka Gas (1.25%), Tokyo Gas (1%) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417%).
