IHC Winches, part of IHC Merwede, signed a contract for the design and manufacture of a riser pull-in spread to be placed on a MODEC floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO).
The delivery of the riser pull-in spread is scheduled first quarter 2013. Part of this system will be built in Brazil to meet the local content requirements for the project.
The riser pull-in package consists of the following products: a riser pull-in winch (designed for a 550 mT maximum line pull); an auxiliary pull-in winch (150 mT maximum line pull); and a sheave trolley system.
The MODEC FPSO will be capable of processing 150,000 barrels of oil and 280 million cu ft of gas per day. It also has a total storage capacity of 1,600,000 barrels of fluid and will be moored in a water depth of 2,300 m (7,545 ft).
