Production resumes at StatoilHydro's Kollsnes processing plant

Production at the Kollsnes processing plant near Bergen has been resumed after Tuesday’s condensate leak.

It was right before 14:00 Tuesday 19 May that a condensate leak to the air occurred. The plant was evacuated as a matter of routine and the production was shut down.

It was soon confirmed that all personnel were safe.

The point of leakage was quickly identified, and inspections and preparations for repairs were immediately initiated. During the shutdown of Kollsnes StatoilHydro has obtained gas from other sources to ensure the deliveries to StatoilHydro customers.

StatoilHydro has, together with the operator, Gassco, appointed an investigation team which will look into the incident. The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway will also set up an investigation team.

Gassco is the operator of the Kollsnes plant near Bergen. StatoilHydro is the technical service provider for the facility.
