Integrated control and safety systems (ICSS) will be designed and installed by Honeywell on both of RWE-Dea’s new North Sea platforms -- Clipper South and Breagh A. The projects are scheduled for completion at the end of 2011.
Honeywell Process Solutions’ (HPS) ICSS will be implemented at the two platforms, simplifying operator training procedures and greatly reducing maintenance costs.
The Breagh field is located in the Southern North Sea, approximately 86 km from RWE-Dea U.K.'s Cavendish gas field. The Clipper South field also lies in the Southern North Sea. Production is expected to start in both locations in 2012.
The ICSS will provide a single-system architecture that is simple, robust and modular and delivers the lowest total cost of ownership, according to Honeywell. Its Experion® Process Knowledge System transforms process control beyond traditional distributed-control-system functionality by unifying people with process variables, business requirements and asset management.
