Airborne Oil & Gas has won a contract with Petronas, for the qualification of several offshore flowline systems. Petronas has selected Airborne's thermoplastic composite pipe concept to become one of their principal offshore flowline solutions for hydrocarbon production.

Airborne's technology offers a corrosion-free pipe, which combines collapse resistance with a smooth bore and spoolability. The small, minimum bend radius enables fast and cost-effective installation offshore. Avoiding the need for an annulus, the simple pipe structure allows for fast and secure qualification, according to Airborne.

The multi-year qualification project will commence in summer 2012.
