Statoil has on behalf of all E&P licenses awarded a four-year contract for electric wireline logging services on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) to Schlumberger.

“High quality logging services is fundamental to characterize reservoirs in the E&P phase. This increases our precision of estimating hydrocarbon volumes and increases recovery,” said Erling Vågnes, senior vice president of exploration for Statoil.

The awarded contract covers provision of electric wireline logging services such as open hole logging, cased-hole logging, borehole seismic, and perforation services.

The contract acquires Schlumberger to use advanced technological equipment, apply new technology, and come up with innovative solutions for formation evaluation and drilling and well operations.

The contract, which applies for all exploration and production licenses on the NCS, will run from Feb. 1, 2013, and holds the possibility of several extensions.
