Wood Group Mustang was awarded the topsides detailed engineering and procurement support for the semisubmersible central processing facility in the Ichthys field development from Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.

The topsides facility will weigh approximately 70,000 metric tons with a topside deck footprint of 156 m (514 ft) by 132 m (434 ft). It will be designed for a peak gas export rate of 1,657 million cu ft per day, as well as liquids transfer to the floating, production storage and offloading vessel for condensate production of approximately 85,000 barrels per day.

The Ichthys liquefied natural gas project is a joint venture between INPEX, operator, with 76% working interest; and Total, 24%.

Detailed engineering is scheduled to be completed third quarter 2013, and first production is expected by the end of 2016.
