ATP Oil & Gas Corp. brought aboard Matt McCarroll as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

McCarroll was founder and CEO of Dynamic Offshore Resources LLC, a private company that focused on acquiring and developing properties in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM). He guided the recent sale of Dynamic Offshore Resources to SandRidge Energy for $1.3 billion.

Prior to establishing Dynamic Offshore Resources, McCarroll served as president of Maritech Resources Inc. He was a member of the senior management team of Plains Resources Inc. and remained with the corporation until 1998. During his time there, he held several management positions, including vice president of land and exploration. Early in his career, he held positions with Great Southern Oil and Gas in Lafayette, LA, and Amoco Production Co. in New Orleans, LA.

McCarroll earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration and finance from Louisiana State University.

ATP’s chairman, T. Paul Bulmahn, stated, “McCarrol’s successful and proven talent in offshore property development is an asset to ATP. His experience in the offshore GoM will be invaluable to moving forward our Clipper and Telemark properties in addition to our international properties.”
