John E. Brewster Jr. and S. Chris Herndon have been appointed as independent directors to Duma Energy’s board.
This action, which brings the total number of directors to five including two insiders and three independents, was a necessary and desired step for the company to meet listing requirements for a senior stock exchange, according to a news release.
Brewster, an oil and gas professional with more than 36 years of experience, currently serves as an independent consultant and attorney to various clients within the energy sector. His past positions have included serving as legal counsel for the Oklahoma Securities Commission, vice president and exploration coordinator for Santa Fe Minerals Inc., COO for Odyssey Energy, CEO of Trafalgar House Oil and Gas, general partner of Moffett & Brewster, consultant to Voyager Energy Corp., and vice president of corporation development and planning for Howell Corp.
Herndon, a financial and management professional with more than 30 years of experience, currently serves as partner of Cyrus Partners. His previous positions have included serving as CFO of AppOne, CEO and partner of The Mattress Firm, registered investment advisor with Malachi Financial Services, CFO and controller for Duer Wagner and Co., and public accountant with Price Waterhouse.
