Energistics confirmed that Aashish Bansal, vice president of energy and utilities for Infosys, has been elected to its board of directors.
With more than 23 years in the energy industry, Bansal brings varied experiences across oilfield operations, investment banking, finance and strategy, as well as in software technology and systems integration.
Bansal joined Infosys in 2000 to incubate the company's energy practice in the US. Currently, he heads up Infosys' global energy practice, and also serves on the company's risk management and policy councils.
Prior to joining Infosys, Bansal led the energy practice for the Indian division of a global investment bank. He spent a few years in the Middle East as a field engineer with a leading oilfield services major.
Bansal has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and an master’s degree in finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
