Marathon Oil's board of directors has elected Sylvia J. Kerrigan as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, and Lance W. Robertson as vice president, Eagle Ford Production Operations, the company announced.

Previously, Kerrigan served as vice president, general counsel and secretary, and Robertson as regional vice president, South Texas/Eagle Ford. Both appointments were effective Oct. 31.

Kerrigan joined Marathon Oil in 1995 and was named vice president and general counsel in September 2009, and secretary in November 2009, according to a news release. Prior to that, she served as assistant general counsel for litigation, human resources, and environmental law.

Robertson joined Marathon Oil in October of 2011 and since then has been responsible for all of the company's operations in the Eagle Ford shale play of South Texas. In this role, his responsibilities include strategic and tactical operational leadership throughout the entire region, working in collaboration with Marathon Oil's exploration, engineering, land and operations teams, the release stated.
