MicroSeismic, Inc. has named Mark Murphy as vice president of analysis.
The position was last held by Mike Mueller, who has been appointed vice president of technology development. Murphy will be responsible for global data processing and analysis operations. In Mueller's new role, he will be responsible for the company’s technology development division based in Houston.
Murphy has more than 19 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He began his career with Geosystems as a junior seismic processor and field engineer in Australia. His experience spans seismic data acquisition, processing, technical geophysical development, IT, and software development and business and operational management. Prior to joining MicroSeismic he was production manager for US Imaging at CGG Veritas.
Murphy has a bachelor of applied science in physics from University of Central Queensland and a post graduate diploma in geophysics from University of Queensland in Australia.
Mueller has been with MicroSeismic since 2010 helping lay the groundwork for the development of the company’s processing and interpretation capabilities. He has worked in a variety of asset management and technology development roles in the oil and gas industry including Gulf of Mexico deepwater appraisal well planning coordinator and North American gas strategic performance unit technology manager with BP. He began his career with Amoco 31 years ago.
