George Watkins has been appointed the non-executive chairman of the board for Petro Matad.

The previous chair, Oyungerel Janchiv, remains on the board and will assume the role of deputy chair, a move that allows more time for her other interests, according to a news release.

Watkins, who was appointed to the board in March 2012, spent 29 years with Conoco Group (latterly ConocoPhillips UK Ltd.). His experience as a non-executive director includes serving on the boards of Abbot Group, Paladin Resources, PSN Ltd., and the Defense Procurement Agency.
