Songa Offshore has accepted the resignation of Asbjørn Vavik, the company’s CEO, according to a news release.

Effective immediately, Jens A. Wilhelmsen, chairman of the board of directors, will assume the additional role as interim CEO. However, Vavik will remain on staff to finish ongoing projects, the release stated.

The board has started the search for a new CEO and will use the next few weeks to undertake a thorough assessment of key strategic and operational issues.
