Baker Hughes finalized a US $250 million deal to take over pipelines and specialized services businesses owned by Weatherford. The deal sees the acquisition by Baker of a business which has up to 700 process and pipeline specialist engineering staff. Baker signaled the deal—part of a Weatherford plan to divest noncore operations—in March, involving the payment to Weatherford of $241 million in cash and $9 million in working capital.
