International energy consultancy Xodus Group will deliver a $3.4 million FEED study for BG’s Dolphin Field offshore Trinidad, the company said in a news release.

The contract, which launched in February and will be completed later this summer, involves a produced water systems upgrade.

Xodus said it has experience of delivering projects in Trinidad and Tobago and recently signed a global master service agreement with BG, separate to the Dolphin FEED study, to further support the organization.

The company will analyze the technologies needed to address the challenges the field is facing in dealing with increased volumes of produced water, the release said. This is expected to increase from 100 barrels of produced water per day to 12,000 per day within the next few years. The team will also be involved in the procurement of the recommended systems.

The project is being led by teams in Aberdeen and Glasgow with expert support from Steven Tulloch in Orkney, a produced water treatment specialist who joined Xodus last year as principal process consultant in the environmental team, and environmental input from London and Houston, the release said.
