Atwood Oceanics' Atwood Aurora was signed to a drilling services contract by a subsidiary of Bowleven for work offshore Cameroon in 2012.
The day rate will be approximately $134,000 with the contract expected to start in May 2012 in direct continuation of the current contract.
The contract is for an estimated 120-day firm duration and includes a one-well option at the contracted day rate if exercised by Dec. 31, 2011, or at $139,000 if exercised by March 31, 2012.
With this contract, the jackup’s work commitment is expected to last through October 2012.
