CNOOC Ltd. said Sept. 12 that the Weizhou 6-9/6-10 comprehensive adjustment project in the South China Sea has begun production.
The Weizhou 6-9/6-10 oil field is located in Beibu Gulf in the South China Sea in an average of 35 m of water.
To fully utilize the Weizhou 6-9/6-10 existing facilities, this adjustment project has also built one wellhead platform.
Currently, one producing well produces about 850 barrels per day (bbl/d) of crude oil. The adjustment project is expected to reach peak production of about 3,800 bbl/d of crude in 2018.
CNOOC has 100% interest in the Weizhou 6-9/6-10 oil field and is the operator.
