Production has begun at the Kenli 10-4 oil field, which is located in China’s Bohai Bay, CNOOC Ltd. said in a news release.
In addition to fully utilizing the existing facilities of Kenli 10-1 oil field, the Kenli 10-4 oil field also included the development of one wellhead platform, the release said. There are six wells on production, producing a total of about 6,540 barrels of crude oil per day (bbl/d). The oil field is expected to reach its peak production of about 9,600 bbl/d in 2016.
The Kenli 10-4 is an independent oil field in which CNOOC holds 100% interest.
