Nicolas de Coignac was appointed senior vice president for Vallourec Group, and president for North America, the company said April 2.
Coignac will lead all Vallourec businesses in North America, and worldwide drilling operations.
He will report to Philippe Crouzet, chairman of Vallourec Group (PARIS: VK.PA).
The company said that Coignac’s appointment is part of the tubular solutions company’s effort to simplify organization by region.
Most recently, he was senior vice president of the power and pipe project sector at the company’s Paris headquarters. He is a member of the company's management committee.
Coignac first joined the company, in the Valti division, in 1992. He became corporate controller at the Paris headquarters. He has been sourcing director, and then general manager, of Vallourec Argentina. He also was managing director of OCTG Europe and managing director of the drilling products division.
Coignac has a master’s degree from the Ecole Centrale Paris, and attended an INSEAD executive program.
