Economist Guido Mantega resigned as president of the board of directors at Petrobras SA (NYSE: PBR), the company said March 26. He resigned March 23.
Luciano Galvão Coutinho was elected president on March 23, the company said. Coutinho has been a board member since 2008, and is also on the board of directors at Petrobras Distribuidora SA. He has been president of the National Economic and Social Development Bank since 2007, Petrobras added.
Coutinho’s election is valid until the next shareholders’ meeting, per Brazilian corporate law and the company’s articles of association.
No new members were elected to the board.
