Cyprus-based Songa Offshore SE will cut 200 jobs—76 employees and 124 contractors, respectively, the company said Feb. 2. Most of the reductions will be in the South Korea office and supporting organizations in Stavanger, Norway, and Aberdeen, Scotland.
The support functions will be centralized out of Norway, and the Aberdeen and South Korea offices will be closed. Operating and staff organizations in Oslo and Bergen, Norway, and in Cyprus will also be included in the job cuts.
The offshore organization is not affected.
The annual reduction in expenses will equate to about US$30 million, Songa said.
