Danish oil firm Maersk Oil has a made a small oil discovery off Norway that is not commercial at current energy prices, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said on Oct. 2.
Preliminary estimates suggest the find contains between 9 and 19 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents. The partners in the find are Italy's Edison and Norwegian minnow North Energy ASA.
