Det norske oljeselskap ASA has appointed Olav Henriksen to the position of senior vice president, projects. Henriksen has worked with large development projects in ConocoPhillips since 1990. He will take up the position Jan. 19, 2015, a press release said.

CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik has been the acting senior vice president, projects since the integration of Marathon Oil Norge on Oct. 15. He will now be succeeded by Henriksen, who will have the overall responsibility for projects in Det norske.

All projects will now be organized into one unit. The Ivar Aasen project is the largest project for which Henriksen will assume responsibility. The Ivar Aasen project organization will remain unaltered, with the same responsibilities as before.

Henriksen has a degree in engineering from Møre og Romsdal Ingeniørhøyskole (the Møre and Romsdal college of engineering). His extensive work experience at both Kværner Installasjon and ConocoPhillips includes work in large projects such as Ekofisk, Statfjord, Gullfaks, Oseberg and Eldfisk.
