Wood Group Lands Contract For Peregrino Offshore Brazil

South Atlantic Holding, which is owned by Statoil and Sinochem, has selected Wood Group to provide detailed engineering and design, and procurement services for development of the Peregrino Field wellhead platform C offshore Brazil, a news release said.

As part of the multimillion-dollar contract, Wood Group Mustang will perform the work for Kiewit Offshore Services.

“Wood Group Mustang’s proven ability to deliver cost-effective and efficient solutions was a key enabler to obtaining the contract,” Wood Group Mustang CEO Michele McNichol said.

Wood Group Mustang completed the FEED for wellhead platform C in 2015 and previously designed wellhead platforms A and B, the release said.

Pemex Selects McDermott For Abkatun-2 EPCI Work

Pemex E&P has tapped McDermott International Inc. for engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) for the Abkatun-A2 platform in Mexico’s Bay of Campeche.

As part of the $454 million contract, McDermott said it will provide a vertically integrated, turnkey EPCI solution to build and commission the platform and associated structures. Located in 38 m (124 ft) of water. The platform will provide replacement and expansion capabilities to the existing Ku-Maloob-Zaap, Cantarell and Ayatsil facilities, McDermott said.

“Our fully integrated solution will be led by our team in Mexico, including project management, procurement, engineering, fabrication and installation,” said Scott Munro, McDermott’s vice president for Americas, Europe and Africa. “This allows us to optimize all phases of the project.”

McDermott said structures for the project will be manufactured at the Altamira, Mexico, fabrication facility. The company plans to use the Derrick Barge 50 and the Intermac 650 float-over installation vessel.

Engineering and procurement activities were set to begin immediately, while fabrication was scheduled to start in late 2016 followed by offshore activities in 2018 with handover to Pemex in fourth-quarter 2018.

Sea Trucks Group Scoops Up Pipelay Project Offshore Argentina

Representing the Unión Transitoria de Empresas Magallanes, Enap Sipetrol Argentina has awarded a contract to Sea Trucks Group for a pipelay construction project for its PIAM Project in the Magallanes Field offshore Argentina.

The scope of work covers engineering, project management and installation of three pipelines ranging in size from 6 in. to 14 in., with one shore approach, and the installation of tie-in spools and risers, Sea Trucks Group said. Work in the field, which has water depths of up to 70 m (230 ft), also will include abandonment of two existing lines and recovery of flexibles.

In addition, Sea Trucks has landed an accommodation services contract. The Jascon 34 DP3 pipelay construction and accommodation vessels, has been nominated for the job. Offshore activities are set to begin in fourth-quarter 2016.

First Subsea Lands Appomattox Job

First Subsea Ltd. has won a contract from Shell Offshore Inc. to supply Ballgrab subsea mooring line connectors for the Appomattox development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

The semisubmersible four-column production platform will be moored in about 2,194 m (7,200 ft) of water using 16 Series III Ballgrab subsea mooring connectors (SMCs) arranged in 4-by-4 clusters, First Subsea said.

The SMCs, with a MBL of 26,221kN (2,600 T), are manufactured in compliance with American Bureau of Shipping 2009 Approval for special subsea mooring connectors.
