Jerry Hubbard, president and CEO of Energistics, in Houston, passed away Jan. 1, 2015. Under his leadership, this E&P industry group sets standards for technical data exchange and information modeling, with some 125 corporate members and user-group meetings held worldwide, including recently in Beijing in November and Azerbaijan in October 2014.

Hubbard played a key role in developing global e-business standards for the oil and gas industry, serving as director of the Standards and Guidelines Committee for the Petroleum Industry Data Exchange subcommittee of the American Petroleum Institute. He was also a founding member of the Steering Committee of the U.N. Standard Products and Services Code.

He graduated from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, with an master’s degree in science management and a bachelor’s degree in natural resources. His industry experience includes executive operations, business development, project management and pipeline construction assignments in Alaska, Oklahoma, Texas and the U.K. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and grandchildren.
