Ennsub has completed the design, manufacture, testing and installation of bespoke sealing systems for the Wheatstone LNG platform off the coast of Australia, according to a press release.
The company was approached by a tier-one marine contractor to design two different systems to provide an external and internal sealing system for 64-off 8-in. NS ballasting pipes located at each corner of the platform.
Ennsub was responsible for the design and supply of all equipment, including downline recovery winches, remote disconnect heads and isolation plugs. Following an intensive factory-acceptance test program, which simulated the offshore conditions, four Ennsub engineers were mobilized to Australia to perform the installation of the 128-off bespoke sealing systems.
The solution presented by Ennsub replaced the alternative grouting solution that was being considered by the end user.
