The Shah Deniz consortium said on Sept. 1 that the jacket for one of the Shah Deniz Stage 2 platforms was sent offshore for installation in the Shah Deniz contract area in the Caspian Sea. The jacket will be installed in 94 meters of water.
The jacket’s construction was completed on schedule on July 29 at the Heydar Aliyev Baku deepwater jackets factory.
The transportation, launch, positioning and pile installation activities of the production and risers (PR) platform jacket structure will take about 40 days to complete.
The PR platform jacket weighs 13,150 tonnes and stands 105 meters high. It contains 12 production risers, three export risers and a dedicated monoethylene glycol import riser.
The PR platform jacket was constructed by the BOS Shelf, Star Gulf and Saipem consortium in Azerbaijan.
