FMC Technologies Inc. will supply subsea production systems for well clusters in the Shah Deniz Stage 2 project for BP Exploration (Shah Deniz) Ltd., the company said June 22.
Well clusters 3 to 5 in Azerbaijan’s area of the Caspian Sea will be in addition to the initial order for well clusters 1 to 2, received in 2014.
BP operates Shah Deniz Stage 2. The field is about 100km south of the city of Baku, FMC added.
"This award continues our multi-year support for BP on this project," said Tore Halvorsen, FMC Technologies' senior vice president, subsea technologies. "Our close cooperation on this project has accelerated the transition to the manufacturing stage and enabled us to reduce the lead time delivering the project."
FMC Technologies Inc. is based in Houston.
