HBW Resources said in a press release that it was retained by Port Cameron LLC to help identify and secure new customers for its new private deepwater state-of-the-art staging port in Cameron Parish, La. Construction on the $1.5 billion project is set for November.
The port complex, located on the Calcasieu Ship Channel south of Lake Charles, La., will comprise 500 acres. An additional 750 acres will be available for expansion, HBW said.
When the port is completed, it will house the largest private energy services facility on the Gulf Coast, with more than 21,000 linear ft of bulkhead lots on dredged slips, which will be between 500 ft and 700 ft in width, with dredged depths of 33 ft.
Loren Scott Associates, an economic consulting firm based in Baton Rouge, La., said that the facility’s construction phase could take four years.
