HOIDI International Pte. Ltd.’s production division, Tianjin HOIDI Group Co. Ltd., has signed a GUSTO MSC CJ50-X120-E rig leg component fabrication and construction contract for the COSL HYSY944 CJ50 Project with China Merchant Heavy Industry Co. Ltd., according to a press release.
The scope includes the fabrication, installation, erection and construction of a complete set of legs for the HYSY 944 GUSTO MSC CJ50-X120-E project, a jackup rig with a maximum operating depth of 122 m (400 ft) and drilling depth of 9,144 m (30,000 ft). The high-specification CJ50 jackup rig’s main leg component, rack and chord will be made up of EQ70 special grade steel that can operate in -20 C (-4 F) waters and is suitable for North Sea usage.
Delivery of the HSYS944 is planned in 2016.
