Wireless Seismic Inc. sold and delivered its RT System 2 seismic data acquisition system to PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa), an Indonesian seismic contractor, the company said Oct. 12.
Comprehensive system field trials were held in north Sumatra before the sale. Elnusa operates seismic crews throughout Indonesia and the world.
“Our first project for RT System 2 is in a busy, densely populated urban area in Java,” said T. S. Winarso, deputy director of geoscience services at Elnusa. “The portion of the survey in this urban area would be very difficult to acquire with a conventional cable system. The real time data and QC return of RT System 2 means that we can monitor the noise on the line during acquisition and avoid shooting with high background noise levels.”
Mick Lambert, president and CEO of Wireless Seismic, said this is the company’s first sale in Indonesia.
RT System 2 will be demonstrated at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists’ annual conference in New Orleans from Oct. 18 to 21, the company said.
Wireless Seismic Inc. is based in Sugar Land, Texas.
