Frank Jacobs was appointed COO of TAG Oil Ltd., said Alex Guidi, founder and chairman, on May 12.
Jacobs has more than 35 years’ experience in the oil and natural gas industry.
Most recently, Jacobs led the field development, project funding and technical team for the Ophir Field offshore Malaysia, a US$135 million development project.
Previously, Jacobs was managing director of Cue Energy, where he led the acquisition of several oil and gas properties in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. He also led the acquisition of numerous Australian companies including Basin Oil, Barcoo Petroleum and Esso Timor Sea Ltd.
Jacobs has a bachelor’s degree from the Higher Technical College in Breda, Netherlands, and a master’s degree from the University of Calgary.
TAG Oil Ltd. is based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
