Production at Well 27 in the Koshekhablskoye Field onshore southern Russia has been restored following repairs and recompletion, JKX Oil & Gas said in a news release.

The well is producing at a rate of 16.3 MMcf/d through a 27/64-in. choke, with a flowing wellhead pressure of 3,370 psi, the company said. The well was completed, pressure tested and restored to production before undertaking a routine acid treatment of the carbonate reservoir to clean out the well and further stimulate production.

“Restoration of production from well 27 brings the total field rate to in excess of 45 MMcf/d from four wells, comfortably above the original design specification of our process plant,” JKX Chief Executive Paul Davies said in the release. “Our next task is to replace the damaged tubing in well 05 and bring it on production to utilize fully the recently upgraded plant capacity of 60 MMcf/d.”
